Written by teachers for teachers, Triángulo: A Propósito Fourth Edition is a preparation program for the AP Spanish Language Examination. The program is a product of a combined 60 years of experience in teaching in public and independent schools. Unlike other AP books that rely on drill, Triángulo provides flexibility for the creative teacher who is looking for breadth and depth in topics which will provide students with the opportunity to think imaginatively and analytically while improving Spanish proficiency.

The Manual para Estudiantes is divided into ten themes, which cover global challenges, science and technology, contemporary life styles, private and public identities, families and communities and beauty and aesthetics. Each chapter provides a variety of basic and advanced vocabulary that students can exploit to enrich their ability to express themselves. Each chapter ends with communicative activities designed to use that vocabulary and the ideas revealed in the materials of each chapter. In between, there are ample examples of all the tasks found on the AP Spanish examination. Because of the thematic and lexical cohesiveness of each chapter the students can develop their language and thinking skills with confidence and sensibility. The end notes provide specialized vocabulary and a glossary of words used in the text.

The CD program of audio selections augments the written materials and uses the same voices that ETS uses for the AP Exam. Professionally recorded with a variety of authentic accents from around the Spanish speaking world, the 90 audios treat serious topics as well as humorous foibles of everyday life.

The Manual para Profesores provides advice to the teacher on how best to use the student materials. It also contains scripts and answer keys.

As the book review site on AP Central says this program is a “must have”.
