EntreCulturas authors present at NECTFL

Join the authors of EntreCulturas at NECTFL 2016 on Feb. 12 in New York City.

George Watson-López, Pamela Garcia, and Catherine Schwenkler will present: “Teaching Intercultural Competence in Spanish 1, 2, 3: EntreCulturas: Communicate, Explore, and Connect Across Cultures” during session 2 on Friday, Feb. 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.


Did you ever wonder how one teaches interculturality? Participants will learn how to use the authentic tasks and resources provided in theEntreCulturas Spanish 1, 2, 3 program to acquire communication skills, expand content knowledge, and explore the products, practices, and perspectives of Spanish-speaking cultures while addressing the World Readiness Standards’ 5Cs.

The presentation includes classroom activities and video blogs, flipped-classroom grammar and learning strategies videos, suggestions for teachers and instructional strategies, and a look at the series’ reflective portfolio. Participants will receive a packet of materials including ready-to-use examples of how to integrate interculturality in 21st century classrooms.
