2016: A year in review
New websites, ed tech products, and titles made 2016 as fast-paced as it was fun
Soon it will be time for New Year's Resolutions, new goals, and new projects. But, first, we want to look back this December at what we're proud of accomplishing in 2016.
We started off the year with a brand-new Learning Site, built in-house! We’ve been adding new features steadily. Pairing intuitive navigation and lightning-fast response with our existing no-nonsense customer service and support is a long-term goal finally realized. Following our Learning Site launch quickly came our iOS app release, again built in-house. Now we can offer any student or teacher, no matter the device, the ability to use Explorer and FlexText on the go. Plus, unlike other publishers, students can now record audio on their iPhones and iPads!
In the spring we added to our Italian offerings. Chiarissimo Due launched in May, offering a level two to our Chiarissimo series. Our fantastic AP® Spanish authors, John McMullan and Barbara Gatski, took time in April to create an incredible resource—a free three-week lesson plan and training for the much-loved Triángulo Aprobado.
Our busy summer kicked off with the release of a sample unit from each level of our new Spanish 1, 2, 3 series, EntreCulturas! Hearing the feedback to this groundbreaking series was inspiring. Authors also took time to carefully create a pedagogy and strategies brochure to go along with the sample units. July saw Wayside’s third appearance at the APAC conference, where we met and chatted with AP® educators.
This fall saw the completion of our rebranding, which started in 2015. We launched our new company website, waysidepublishing.com, to show off our new logo and look. The new site offers simpler navigation and easy ordering.
Later in November, we made a splash at ACTFL meeting and mixing with educators and talking about our new products, including EntreCulturas: Communicate, Explore, and Connect Across Cultures, Chiarissimo Due, and others.
We're humbled and grateful to the educators who time after time choose our programs. We promise to bring you more of what make Wayside unique in 2017 and beyond.
