Kate Sanders knew she wanted to become a language educator from a young age. She holds a degree in both Spanish and Italian studies, as well as a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration, and spent 15 years teaching high school Spanish, while also serving as the world language team leader, focusing on the redevelopment and implementation of curriculum. In 2013, her dedication to her language classroom and department earned her the area’s Promising Practices Teacher of the Year award. Kate also held the role of her district’s New Teacher Induction Program Coordinator for many years, redesigning the program while guiding and supporting new teachers, and was recognized for her efforts with this program statewide. She brings her expertise to Wayside from these various positions including teacher, teacher leader, and administrator.
Kate has a passion for technology integration in the world language classroom, is Google Educator Certified, and has helped and trained teachers on how best to incorporate tech into their daily lessons.
